Over the last three decades, the world of health and wellness has shifted dramatically—from aerobics and gym culture in the 1990s, to yoga, holistic therapies, and the rise of mindfulness. This expert panel reflects on what we’ve gained, what we’ve lost, and what still matters most for wellbeing today. At the centre of the discussion is the surge in GLP-1 weight-loss injections such as Ozempic and Wegovy. Are they a medical breakthrough, or do they undermine the long-term foundations of health? By contrasting past fitness movements with today’s pharmaceutical solutions, our panel will ask what the next 30 years of wellness should look like—and how we can build a future rooted in balance, resilience, and sustainable self-care.

Bouabti

Born in Jamaica and descended from Maroons renowned for their heightened spiritual gifts, Bouabti Fahkara was raised in a rich clairvoyant community where he was exposed to Nature's abundance and taught the significance of herbs and their medicinal properties. From as young as five, Bouabti recognised his spiritual gifts, witnessing spirits and having visions. As a teenager he began to channel these gifts and eventually, with the prompting of Spirit, began training and developing his unique ability to directly connect with all the energies of existence. Keen to pass on these traditions, Bouabti has trained mediums through meditation groups and courses. He now offers meditation & spiritual development classes, tarot, clairvoyance, and earth energy readings, performs energy clearings, and aura readings, as he guides individuals towards harmonizing with their destiny and with Nature.

She balances this precision with expressive brushwork, creating pieces rich with symbolism that encourage contemplation and introspection.

Originally rooted in the world of fashion, Barrie Thomas entered the health and fitness industry in 1987, beginning as a fitness instructor and teaching his own classes across renowned fitness institutions in London, including Jubilee Hall in Covent Garden, Holmes Place (now Virgin Active), and David Lloyd. His passion for holistic health led him to become a personal trainer. Barrie supported clients through fitness programs, preparing nutritious meals, and offering tailored nutritional guidance. Today, he has expanded his platform to radio broadcaster, celebrant, podcaster, and public speaker. Barrie is passionate about sharing the wealth of knowledge and experience he's gained over the years in fashion, health, and music. He wholeheartedly embraces every opportunity to inspire and empower others on their own journey to wellbeing.

Cherelle Sappleton

Cherelle Sappleton

Cherelle Sappleton is a British-Caribbean interdisciplinary artist based in Ramsgate (UK) working across collage photography, sound & installation. A trained Somatic & Sound Therapist with a background in experimental theatre, she uses music, movement & sound to tune into emotional states, which informs her creative practice. She’s exhibited locally and internationally, with solo shows at Phoenix Gallery, Exeter & Summer Time Gallery, NY. She has also been commissioned by a variety of orgs & institutions, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, National Trust, Hospital Rooms and National Theatre.

An established artist, Emma Tweedie’s artistic journey has gained recognition in the international art world, with her work shortlisted for a number of prestigious awards, and held in a number of private collections internationally. Emma’s semi-impressionistic landscapes offer a sensory dialogue on the elemental forces of land, sea, and sky. Rooted in spiritual sensibility, her work explores the subtle dialogue between nature and human consciousness—gently unearthing echoes of ancient wisdom, memory, and metaphysical energy embedded in the landscape. Positioned gracefully between soft abstraction and impressionism, her canvases invite quiet contemplation. At first glance, they whisper; on closer inspection, they reveal layered contradictions—technical precision softened by the application of fluid pigment, colour is added to, and subtracted from, structure dissolving into atmosphere.

Yeside Linney

Yeside Linney

Nigerian-born retired English teacher, turned artist Yeside Linney has a complex and intuitive practice. Inspiration is either drawn from her National Trust surroundings, memories or research. She uses these to underpin the conversations about her Yoruba heritage and identity. Yeside has gained much recognition including gaining a double award in the Women in Art Prize 2022. She has exhibited widely in prestigious galleries including Watts Gallery and Hauser & Wirth. Her work has been acquired by several institutions; one work remains part of the Hastings Museum and Gallery Contemporary Art collection.

Phoebe Minson

Phoebe Minson

Phoebe Minson is a writer, facilitator, and communications expert working at the intersection of creativity, wellbeing, and social change. She is the External Affairs and Communications Lead at SHiFT, a national youth justice charity, and runs her own coaching practice supporting creatives navigate and thrive in increasingly complex times, and to ultimately unlock their full potential. Phoebe holds a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins and has seven years of experience in the commercial art world. She believes in the fundamental importance of art and creativity as one facet of holistic health for all, the power of community, conversations, curiosity, and connectedness, and the courage it takes to embrace it all, using her work to help others explore, make, and step boldly into new possibilities.
