As the lockdown restrictions begin to lift and ease, you may have begun to think about and look at the issues relating to your post lockdown identity.
For some people these are exciting times with lots of new opportunities – after all, when in our life time have we had an opportunity to restructure our lives and form an alternative way of living, in light of all the information concerning human life on earth and our place in society?
Other people will try to resume a lifestyle or an identity that just was not working but are afraid to admit the need for change. Change, especially the type and way that some of us are experiencing it now, can be terrifying.
But if there is one lesson from this crisis that we must accept, it is that there are going to be changes whether we like them or not. We must have a higher ambition than to going back to what was normal. On every level, this current time is an accelerated form of spiritual and emotional development for everyone.
What can I do?
Firstly, create stability in yourself.
This can be done in several different ways:
- Self-care
- Become healthier
- Reduce stress by practising mediation and deep breathing techniques
- Visualisations
- Nurture good relationships – talk to friends and family
- Engage in therapies that develop you
A stable base must be created in each and every one of us, and we must help and encourage others to do this too.
In the end, we should think about this crisis or lockdown as a cocoon from which we will transform and emerge into our higher self.
